Special Assembly - Class KG-C
The topic of Special Assembly was 'Farm animals'. Students presented a story through role play along with the rhymes. Farm animals , their young ones , their homes , their eating habits , their uses were discussed through role play and rhymes and interesting facts about them were also discussed .
70th Independence Day Celebrations
G.D. Goenka Public School, East Delhi witnessed the spirit of freedom in its full zeal and gusto. The program commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by the honorable Chief Guest, Mr. Vijay Shrotiya , SHO, Vivek Vihar. This was followed by the March past by Goenkan students. Every step of theirs ignited in them countless aspirations to make the nation proud. The celebration initiated with yoga, keeping in view how India has come a long way with health being at the top pedestal , lamp lighting ceremony as a tribute to Mother Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge. Honourable School Principal, Ms. Anupama Chopra felicitated the Chief Guest and extended her warm greetings with her insightful words . The freedom festivity witnessed the blend of joy and patriotic fervor with the cultural saga ‘ Jashn-ae-Azaadi’. Students made the aura alive with a qawali , dance and theatrical presentation. Before the culmination of the program , a vote of thanks was presented to our honourable chief guest followed by the national anthem.
I Position - Inter School IT Competition
10 students participated in Inter School Competition 'Dewang Mehta Memorial IT Symposium' held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya. Students participated in various IT events such as Digistroke, Warzone, PoeTECHry, Frame Labs , Graphica etc. Ms. Divya Arora (Computer Teacher) accompanied the students. Ayush Kovind of class XII-A & Shubham Sharma of class XII-C bagged I position in Frame Labs (Movie Making) Competition. Aadya Sharma of class VI-A bagged III Position in PoeTECHry. Also, G.D. Goenka Public School, East Delhi was awarded with Runner Up Rolling Trophy for the tremendous performance showcased by the students.
Visit to The Indian Science Festival - Classes III-XII
141 students from classes III-XII along with the teachers went for an excursion to The Indian Science Festival at Thyagaraj Stadium, which was organised by Hindustan Times in collaboration with Ambience Mall. The students enjoyed the concept of hands on activity as they performed the experiment themselves. They visited various stalls as 'Chambers of Secret', 'Forensic Science' , 'Smoky Labs' etc. They were enthralled to see the famous 'Mighty Raju' and his lab tricks.
Investiture Ceremony (2017-18)
An occasion of great solemnity and decorum, it was a ceremony that was participated by the entire Goenkan fraternity with great enthusiasm and pride. The Chief Guest of the event was Group Captain MS Sidhu, (VM) the chief operations officer at Air force station, Hindon. After honouring the 51 member team of the student council with their new badges, he along with the Principal, Ms. Anupama Chopra and the Vice Principal Ms. Renu Ajay had a healthy interaction about the duties and responsibilities of a leader. The newly appointed Head Boy – Atishae Jain, Head Girl – Ritika Kapoor and their entire team were facilitated and motivated for a productive session.
Rakhi Making Activity - Class I-II
Students of class I & II celebrated Rakshabandhan festival and were told the relevance of the festival and the bond of love and care shared by the siblings. They also learnt to make rakhis.
Rakhi making Activity - Classes Nursery-KG
The students were told that Rakshabandhan isrnnot only about the brother sister relationship but also about anybody whorncares for us and protects us in the hour of need. The bond of love between anrnelder and a young one was depicted through story presentation. Students alsornrecited a rhyme based on the festival-'Rakshabandhan hai ye tyohar, pyar bhararnhai ye tyohar, bada ho ya chhota ho, koi bhi rakhe, kisi ka khayal'.
Inter house Spell Bee Competition - Classes III-V
The competition comprised of 6 rounds that testedrnthe teams' spelling ability through varied degrees of test that included wordrnsearch, identifying the picture, pronunciation, Choosing the correct spelling outrnof the options given along with identifying the hints. Teams of Radhakrishnan house & Teresa house tied for the 1st position. A rapid fire round was conducted as therntie breaker and Teresa house emerged as the winner of the competition.
Inter school Commerce Fest
13 students participatedrnin Inter school Commerce Fest 'E-ComBat' held at Ahlcon Public School, MayurrnVihar wherein they covered the following vents - Stock Market, Commerce Quiz, face to Face,rnBusiness-Ad Making (poster Competition), Street Play on Consumer Protection.
Special Assembly - Class I-B
A Special Assembly wasrnconducted by Class I-B on theme Friendship to celebrate 'Friendship Day'. Thernassembly started with morning prayer which was followed by news reading andrnthought of the day. The students presented a wonderful skit on the story- 'ThernElephant and his Friends' and a poem 'Friend'. A video song onrnFriendship was also played for everyone to celebrate.
