Workshop on Handling Screen Media Addiction
A workshop was conducted in association with Litchi Knowledge Centre for the students of class IX on Handling Screen Media Addiction. The resource person, Ms. Reecha Vashishtha began the session with a lot of questioning and discussion on the love for screen time in the students which led to self realization mode where they understood the futility of spending too much time on games and social media. The students were guided to be updated with technology but not to spend much time using it. The focus was on the realization that the students should be inspired by social media but do not drain their potential in over using it.
Ramleela - Class I
A colorful and memorable Ramleela event was organized by the students of class I. The grand show commenced by the arrival of enthusiastic parents. The zest and zeal of all the students performing on the stage was commendable.
CBSE IBM AI workshop - Class XI
CBSE IBM AI workshop was conducted for the students of class XI by Ms. Subhalaxmi Bohra , Master Trainer from 1M1B foundation. The students were briefed about Artificial Intelligence and it’s use in various areas i.e AI for ALL. After the introduction, the students were divided into teams of 4 each, and were made to think of a problem related to environmental, social or behavioural issue. After that they were made to write possible solutions for the problem. The students presented and expressed their concerns and solution beautifully using chart papers and sticky notes.
UMANG-District Interact Leadership Assembly
49 Goenkan students from classes VI-XII participated in the UMANG-District Interact Leadership Assembly which was conducted at Talkatora Stadium. The event began with an inspiring speech given by the previous year's DIR Ms. Khushbu. The dignitaries stepped down and presented the pins and badges to ZIRs. The newly appointed DIR-Ms Astha enlightened the students with the plans for the upcoming year. Hen, Rtn., Suresh Bhasin-District Governor reminded about the historical achievements of the Rotary Club of our district for the past 80 years. A phenomenal Dance performance was given by the students which was followed by various other performances such as dance and Nukkad Natak from schools of other districts. The highlight of the event was a highly motivating speech by renowned motivational speaker, Mr. Rajeev Puri.
World Mental Health Day
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Ms Anuna Bordoloi from Department of Mental Health, Fortis Healthcare came to address the students of class XII. She gave an insightful talk on various disorders and its prevention. She spoke about myths related to mental health and focussed on the importance of speaking out the problem, getting support, reaching out the counsellors and managing emotions. She concluded the talk by giving the free helpline numbers of Fortis healthcare for school students to discuss their issues and to seek help.
Poster Making Competition on E-Waste - Classes VI- XII
The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. They showcased their talent and creativity and presented beautiful posters. The competition was conducted to create an awareness among the students to save environment from the hazardous effects of e-waste.
Workshop on Child Psychology - Class VII
The workshop was conducted in association with Litchi Knowledge Centre for the students on Child Psychology- Study Skills. The resource person, Ms. Simran Bagga informed students to manage stress and be positive. She also advised to be a good reader and to manage time effectively. She told students to put in efforts rather than focusing on the result. The students should share the good as well bad moments of the day with the parents and teachers.
Saksham National Painting Competition organised by PCRA
120 Goenkan students from classes V-VII (Category 1) and VIII-X (Category 2) participated in the Saksham National Painting Competition organised by PCRA in the school. The theme of the competition was 'Oil Conservation towards healthy and better environment' .Result Awaited.
Inter House Sanskrit Declamation Competition - Classes VII-VIII
Two students per house participated and dressed up like various Sanskrit writers and poets. They spoke about their respective characters in the competition.
Inter House French Declamation Competition - Classes IX-XII
12 students, 3 from each house participated in the competition. The topics for the competition were -water conservation, go green, plastic pollution. All the students participated enthusiastically. Result awaited.
